Naujac sur Mer

Information for the independent traveler

Nouvelle-Aquitaine, FRANCE

Naujac-sur-Mer is a small sleepy French village hidden in the forest situated 10 km from its Atlantic Coast beach resort called The Pin Sec. This Aquitaine village in the summer offers activities such as tennis, horse riding and miles of bicycle tracks into the forest. Outside the tourism industry, the forest is the main provider for the village's economy, where the cultivation of pine for timber and other purposes keep the local community at work all year round.

The night life is classed as "low key" but if you need a beer the Cafe de L’Union is open. During the summer months the The Pin Sec is the place to be otherwise its a 8km drive to Montalivet where you will find in the summer all that you need to keep you going until the early hours.

The village centre includes the church Eglise Saint-Philomene, the mayor’s office, a post office, village school, football field and a village shop; otherwise Lesparre is the place to go to fill up your fridge.

Great Idea ..!

About 1/2 km outside the centre of Naujac-sur-mer on "Rue de la Graviere" direction Gaillan-en-Médoc you will find the La Recyclerie. Here you can buy recycled objects which have been collected from the local rubbish dumps and given the chance for a new life. (a big car boot sale) Open every Wednesday 10h00-17h00 (and the first Saturday of the month).
